A guide to finding your wedding accessories with Tilly Thomas Lux

I’ve had so many questions on Instagram recently about styling and advice on how to find the perfect wedding accessories and it’s something that comes up again and again so I thought I’d so a little post!

The most important thing is to figure out what sort of pieces you like. Get on instagram and Pinterest and go wild for a bit. Don’t restrict yourself at this stage in terms of styles as you never know where your imagination might take you! Keep a note of the things you like and a theme will start to emerge. It might be stars, it might be botanicals, or something super clean and simple. Don’t think you could rock a crown? Don’t rule it out! Once you have a good idea of what you like and what you’re aiming for then narrow down your inspiration to a few pictures to show me when we chat.

Something to bear in mind when you’re looking, is finding the accessories to complement your wedding outfit. If you have a simple dress you might want to go all out on accessories. Equally, if your dress is full of detail you might prefer one of our lovely halo crowns, for example. There are no rules! For me, more is more and I love as much sparkle as I can get, but it’s very much a personal choice and I’ve worked with hundreds of brides over the years and can quickly get a sense of the direction you want to go in and tailor my selection accordingly.

Have a really good look at our website as we have so much choice! If you’re looking for something unique, we offer a bespoke service where you can work one-on-one with me to create a completely new piece from scratch. This is a lovely process and you can read all about it here. It’s also a great idea to look through our wonderful real brides as they are all so different and their weddings are full of inspiring details (see below and click on the thumbnail to read the article).

Remember this should be fun so don’t put any pressure on yourself. I know times are strange at the moment but hopefully dreaming of your wonderful wedding look brings some joy. I’m here if you need any advice. I can offer in person or virtual appointments and would love to talk through my collection with you and fill your day with a little bit - or a lot! - of sparkle.

Love,

Sally xxx
